How to use this page

Device Driver Guide does not host installers. Read the family page for the hardware you own, work out which package applies to your exact model and Windows edition, then use the official-source citation provided for that decision. A component-branded family may still require the company that built your computer or motherboard rather than Multiple vendors; follow the declared package source on the family page.

Where Multiple vendors appears in the directory

Reference coverage is recorded separately for each family in the comparison below, not as one compatibility list for this manufacturer. These labels describe the scope of the reference, not certified compatibility or continuing Windows support. Confirm the exact device or PC model, hardware revision, Windows release, and package requirements with the manufacturer before making a change.

Fax-capable Modem (inbox driver)

A fax-capable modem is analog hardware that can send or receive faxes over a phone line when Windows has a compatible device driver and fax feature. Microsoft says Windows Fax and Scan is available only in certain Windows editions and configurations; that does not guarantee support for a particular modem.

Generic USB Cellular Modem (mobile hotspot / dongle)

This family covers USB cellular sticks and tethering or hotspot devices, whose Windows interfaces and setup methods vary substantially. Some use a Windows-supported USB networking class, while others require a model-specific driver, web interface, or carrier application.

Reference coverage: Varies by exact model, hardware revision, package, and release; verify the official support page

Standard Analog Modem (inbox driver)

This family describes classic analog dial-up hardware. Microsoft still defines a Modem device setup class, but that is not a compatibility list and does not prove that a particular legacy modem has an inbox driver on Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Reference coverage: Varies by exact model, hardware revision, package, and release; verify the official support page
